Regional and Individual Competence The aim of this section of the EuCluster Innovation Community portal is to provide an integrated tool for competence mapping at individual, organizational and regional level. The tools have been developed during the "Regional Competence Project" that was funded under the FP5 programme "Innovation and SME:s". The continuous dissemination of the competence tools is now being spearheaded by the Council of European Municipalities and Regions - CEMR. THE OPEN SOURCE COMMUNITY This is also the site of the Open Source community around these competence tools, where you can have an exchange with others on how to use them. It is also here you can share the developments and modifications you make to the tools with the rest of the Open Source community. You can also come with comments and questions. Please use the Bulletin Board for this. Up to 10 languages at the same time will be possible. The benefits of the tools are: For regions and policy makers: - An easy-to-tailor tool for collecting specific data on individuals and companies in the area and to analyse their strengths and needs - A platform to show the top individual resources and enterprises of the region For organizations A database to describe and find organizational competencies A survey instrument, which e.g. can be used for innovation surveys and for benchmarking purposes A tool to map work availability of members and users An instrument to map training needs of members and users For individuals: A tool for mapping the own competence and to plan the individual competence development An emotional intelligence self-assessment tool An availability sheet A CV repository in EU format At the integrated EuClusterInnovation Community platform http://www.eucluster.net some additional feature combinations and functions are used and demonstrated: event handler, messages, document management and non-technological competences mapping tools, survey tools. When establishing e.g. a new regional competence site you can always decide which of the functions you wish to include Other tools and instruments will be soon available according to an Open Source approach to innovation methodologies. Membership is available to all individuals and companies, and the platform can be used and customised according to the specific needs of user regions.
